A new section for the hearing of industrial property cases (including cases having to do with patents, etc.) has been set up at the Athens Court of First Instance in accordance with Decision No. 50726 of the General Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, published in the Official Journal of the Hellenic Republic Β΄ 739/20.06.2006
In accordance with this decision, the Internal Service Regulations of the Athens Court of First Instance have been supplemented and the setting up has been decided upon of a section for the hearing of cases concerned with industrial property and Community and national marks, as well as the hearing of cases which deal with  patents, utility model certificates, technology transfer, topographies of semi-conductor products, certificates of protection of industrial designs and models, and generally all those cases of inventions which are subject to the civil courts. Those cases within the competence of the Multiple-Member Court will be specified on cause list ΣΤ1 and will be adjudicated by benches A and Z of the Commercial Section, alternately. Cases within the competence of the Single-Member Court will also be specified on cause list ΣΤ1 and will be adjudicated by one of the Judges who serve in the above-mentioned sections, i.e., from benches Α and Ζ of the Commercial Section.
