The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) through the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights (the Observatory) published on Wednesday 11 April the following study:
 
Test Case: Legal Online Offers of Film - The objectives of this study on the legal offer of cultural and creative content were to establish whether and how digital content is legally available via online sources in different countries, and to what extent there is access to this content across borders. The study also showed that for both music and films, the choice between streaming and downloading depends mainly on needs or personal preference. While content that is consumed more often is usually downloaded, overall, streaming seems to be the preferred method, saving both device storage space and allowing quick access.  The full report in English and the executive summaries in 23 language versions can be found here.
