On Monday, March 13, 2023, the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI), in collaboration with the European Patent Office<\/a> (EPO) and Democritus University of Thrace<\/a>,organised a seminar titled “Protection of Patents at the National and European Level” in Alexandroupolis.<\/p>\n

The informative event was held at Democritus University of Thrace, specifically at the School of Health Sciences \u2013 Stathopoulos Hall, and was aimed at students of health sciences. The opening remarks were made by Mr. Giorgos Broufas, Vice Rector, and Mrs. Maria Michalopoulou, Board Member.<\/p>\n

Following this, Dr. Gianna Pentari, Head of the Chemicals & Biotechnological Inventions Department at OBI, presented on “Protection of Industrial Property in Greece through Patents & Examples.” Mr. Michael Fr\u00f6hlich, Director for International and European Legal Affairs at the EPO, gave a presentation titled “Unitary Patent and the European Patent.” The seminar concluded with a talk by Dr. Giorgos Asimopoulos, Chemist and Head of OBI\u2019s Regional Office in Thessaloniki, on “Technological Information from Industrial Property Titles and the Exploitation of Patents.”<\/p>\n

A fruitful discussion and exchange of views followed with the attending students and professors.<\/p>\n
