This Recommendation follows the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/el\/ip_20_2187\">IP Action Plan<\/a>, approved by the European Commission in November 2020, aimed at enhancing competitiveness within the European Union. It includes <u>5 key areas:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promotion of collaboration, coordination, and information sharing among stakeholders, for example, by establishing a single point of contact for IPR enforcement issues, as well as expanding the use of existing tools such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/euipo.europa.eu\/ohimportal\/en\/web\/observatory\/ip-enforcement-portal-home-page\">IP Enforcement Portal<\/a>\u00a0provided by the EUIPO.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening IPR enforcement procedures, for example, by promoting the use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms for all intellectual property disputes.<\/li>\n<li>Adapting intellectual property practices to Artificial Intelligence, for instance, by promoting the use of blockchain technology to track counterfeit\/imitated products.<\/li>\n<li>Providing tools to SMEs to better protect their intangible assets, such as the new IP Enforcement Voucher (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.euipo.europa.eu\/en\/discover-ip\/ideas-powered-for-business\/ip-scan\">IP Scan<\/a>) within the SME Fund, implemented by EUIPO.<\/li>\n<li>Raising awareness, training, and education on intellectual property issues, for example, by integrating IP topics into national training and educational programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information, you can refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/single-market-economy.ec.europa.eu\/publications\/commission-recommendation-measures-combat-counterfeiting-and-enhance-enforcement-intellectual_en?prefLang=el%23files\">Recommendation for Combating Counterfeiting\/Imitation and Strengthening IPR Enforcement<\/a> and the (<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/el\/QANDA_24_1552\">Q-A<\/a>) published on the European Commission&#8217;s website.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; On March 19, 2024, the European Commission issued a recommendation for the combating of counterfeiting\/imitations and strengthening the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
