The Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI) informs citizens and businesses about the increasing occurrence of misleading payment requests<\/strong> sent by third parties who falsely claim to represent official Intellectual Property (IP) authorities.<\/p>\n

These requests usually appear as invoices or messages<\/strong> and are designed to resemble official correspondence, aiming to deceive recipients into making payments for:
\u2022 Services that have not been requested or are not provided
\u2022 Registrations in unofficial databases
\u2022 <\/strong>Renewals or filings that are not required
\u2022 Fake procedures related to IP rights protection<\/p>\n

Holders of IP rights are strongly advised to be<\/strong> particularly cautious<\/strong> and to<\/strong> verify the authenticity<\/strong> of any payment request they receive. \u00a0OBI and official IP authorities<\/strong> do not send payment requests<\/strong> through third parties or<\/strong> unauthorized <\/strong>organizations<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
