The analysis of 332 patent families shows that the sector is moving from a platform-centric approach towards integrated ecosystems for the collection, processing and utilisation of information.<\/p>\n<p>In this new environment, <strong>data processing capabilities<\/strong> and the <strong>use of advanced artificial intelligence algorithms<\/strong> are becoming key competitiveness factors, surpassing the importance of the aerial platform itself.
