Rhodes hosted an innovative educational workshop designed for primary school students, aiming to empower and inspire them through the world of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics).
On November 19 and 20, workshops were held on the island with the theme “Smart Cities of the Future,” where participants learned how a city can be designed using sustainable and innovative solutions.
Through education in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, the young learners were encouraged not only to discover their potential, but also to develop collaboration and creative-thinking skills, familiarize themselves with modern tools and technologies, and draw inspiration from the success stories of contemporary scientists in the fields of technology and innovation.
This hands-on educational activity was carried out with the participation of 120 students from the communities of the Municipality of Rhodes: Archangelos, Maritsa, Pastida, Paradeisi, and Afantou.
The workshops included robotics and programming sessions, technology and industrial design applications, and were organized by the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI) and the Municipality of Rhodes, and implemented by STEAM Greece, an organization promoting STEAM education in Greece, with a focus on creativity and the practical application of knowledge.
