The Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI) is pleased to announce that, in cooperation with the EUIPO Boards of Appeal, it is organising a seminar for Greek Intellectual Property professionals in Athens on Monday, 5 October 2026. As part of the event, we are honoured to welcome, among others, Mr Sven Stürmann, President of the EUIPO Boards of Appeal.
The seminar will bring together legal practitioners and experts in the field, with the aim of providing an update on recent developments in trade mark and design practice at European and national level.
Participants will be informed about the key developments at the Boards of Appeal and their recent case law, as well as the assessment of the likelihood of confusion between trade marks where the similarity resides in a weak or non-distinctive element.
The programme will conclude with a round-table discussion on weak trade marks, bringing together representatives of EUIPO and OBI, a lawyer and a judge, offering different perspectives and practical insights on the subject.
