The Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI) actively participated in the 9th Patras IQ Exhibition 2026, held on 27–28 February and 1 March 2026 in Patras, contributing actively to the dialogue on the strategic management of Intellectual Property, technology transfer, and the commercial maturation of research knowledge.
Ms. Uioulli Papapostolou, Director of Technological Information and Head of the OBI Innovation Agency, in her presentation titled “From Ideas to Impact: The Role of Industrial Property in the Commercial Maturation of Innovation”, presented the strategic framework through which Industrial Property becomes an essential tool for economic growth and international competitiveness.
She highlighted the process through which a timely and comprehensive Intellectual Property strategy shapes the transition from academic research to commercially viable and scalable innovation, while at the same time strengthening the development of a shared strategic perspective among universities, research teams, and the business community.
Public interest during the panel discussion was particularly strong, with Ms. Papapostolou receiving a series of substantive questions and engaging in a fruitful dialogue on the strategic use of Intellectual Property.

At the Organisation’s booth, Ms. Vivian Makri, Head of the Innovation Dissemination Department at the Directorate of Technological Information, Mr. Anastasios Kardaris, associate of the Directorate of Technological Information, and Mr. Theodoros Chalkidis, associate of the Directorate of Technological Information, based at the OBI Regional Office in Patras, provided personalized guidance on patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and international protection, serving as a hub for information and strategic support for the innovation ecosystem.
