The Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI), as the national institutional authority responsible for the protection and exploitation of Industrial Property and a key pillar supporting Innovation in Greece, is participating dynamically in the 9th Patras IQ 2026 Exhibition, actively contributing to the dialogue on the strategic management of Intellectual Property, technology transfer and the commercial maturation of research knowledge.
The Exhibition will take place on 27–28 February and 1 March 2026 at the Conference and Cultural Center of the University of Patras and constitutes a leading meeting point for the Greek innovation ecosystem, bringing together research institutions, universities, startups, spinoffs, businesses and investors.
At the scientific panel entitled: “Innovation and Intellectual Property: Protection and Exploitation”, Ms. Uioulli Papapostolou, Director of Technological Information at the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation and Head of the Innovation Agency, will deliver a keynote intervention, presenting the strategic framework through which Industrial Property functions as a driver of economic growth and international competitiveness.
In her speech titled “From Ideas to Impact: The Role of Industrial Property in the Commercial Maturation of Innovation”, she will highlight:
- the critical role of shaping a comprehensive IP strategy from the very early stages of research,
- the link between IP protection and investment attractiveness,
- the importance of technological information as a strategic analysis tool,
- the operational support model developed by OBI for startups, spinoffs and research institutions.
During the thematic session, the following will be presented:
- The operational model of OBI’s Innovation Agency for supporting startups and spinoffs
- Specialised patent information and analysis tools for strategic decision-making
- Guidance on developing a comprehensive Intellectual Property protection and exploitation strategy
- Mechanisms linking research – entrepreneurship – the investment community
- Methods for identifying emerging technologies and transforming them into high value-added products
Throughout the Exhibition, at Stand 23–24 (ground floor of the Conference and Cultural Center), OBI will operate as a hub for information and specialised guidance.
OBI executives will provide:
- Personalised consulting on patents, trademarks and industrial designs
- Support in developing protection and commercialisation strategies
- Information on international protection options
- Guidance on leveraging technological information data
In this way, OBI strengthens the direct link between research and the market and actively supports the growth dynamics of the Greek innovation ecosystem.
