Patents in Greece: From History to Innovation
Speaking on BizSound, a production of Oikonomikos Tachydromos, the Director General of the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI), Panagiotis Kanellopoulos, takes us through the history of Patent protection in Greece, which began over a century ago. Initially under the supervision of government ministries, and later, in 1988, the OBI was established, marking a new era for Industrial Property in the country.
As technologies change, so do Patents. The rapid advancement of technology has significantly affected the lifespan of a Patent. As Mr. Kanellopoulos explains, “The Patent serves as a foundation for new technologies, generates added value, and passes the baton to the next innovation.”
