The European Patent Office (EPO) announced today the 12 finalists for the European Inventor Award 2026, recognizing inventors whose work contributes to addressing some of the world’s most pressing global challenges.
This year’s finalists have developed inventions in fields such as biotechnology, healthcare, renewable energy, semiconductors, digital technologies, food technology, quantum technology, railway transport, and advanced manufacturing.
Selected by an independent international jury, the finalists represent a wide range of technical fields and countries. Their inventions demonstrate how science, engineering, and entrepreneurship can contribute to more sustainable societies, stronger healthcare systems, and a more resilient economy.
In the Industry category, for the first time, we see two Greek finalists: Angeliki Triantafyllou and Evangelos Eleftheriou.
