The Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI), as part of its ongoing collaboration with the academic community, participated in the interdepartmental course “Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Innovation” at the School of Production Engineering and Management of the Technical University of Crete through a dedicated seminar aimed at informing and raising students’ awareness of the importance of protecting and exploiting industrial property rights.
This seminar forms part of OBI’s initiatives to strengthen dialogue with universities and support the student community in its journey from knowledge to innovation.
Representing the Organisation, Dr. George Asimopoulos, responsible for OBI’s Regional Office in Thessaloniki and Associate of the Directorate of Technological Information, presented issues related to the protection of Industrial Property rights, including procedures and tools concerning Patents, Industrial Designs, and Trademarks, as well as the Technological Information services provided by the Organisation.
The seminar was attended by students of the Technical University of Crete and was organized following an invitation from the instructors of the interdepartmental undergraduate course “Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Innovation,” Professor Konstantinos Zopounidis and Dr. Evangelia Krasadaki. Opening remarks were delivered by the Dean of the School of Production Engineering and Management, Professor Michail Doumpos, and the President of the Economic Chamber of Western Crete, Mr. Pantelis Petsetakis.
The participation of OBI and its Directorate of Technological Information once again highlighted their firm commitment to bridging academic knowledge with innovation, entrepreneurship, and the exploitation of research results.
