Successful Participation of the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI) at BEYOND 2026: “BEYOND FRACTURES. Where Innovation Meets the Real Market”

The Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation (OBI) successfully concluded its participation in BEYOND 2026, the international exhibition on digital technology and innovation, reaffirming the pivotal role of industrial property in transforming knowledge into competitive products and services.

As the national authority exclusively responsible for the protection of inventions, trademarks and industrial designs in Greece, OBI maintained an active presence throughout the exhibition, providing businesses, research organisations and start-ups with information on the tools and procedures available for securing industrial property rights—an essential factor in strengthening competitiveness and international market expansion.

In parallel, OBI representatives took part in discussions and meetings with stakeholders from the innovation ecosystem, contributing to the dialogue on emerging technological developments and the challenges of the future.

On Thursday, 18 June 2026, OBI organised a specialised workshop entitled “Scenario-Driven Innovation Lab: Designing Climate-Responsive and Resilient Technology Futures”, based on the key findings of OBI’s Technology Foresight study, “Technology Foresight on the Adaptation of Public Infrastructure and Services to Climate Change by 2050 through Mitigation and Adaptation Measures.”

Ms Uioulli Papapostolou, Director of Technological Information and Head of OBI’s Innovation Agency, highlighted the Organisation’s role as a provider of technology intelligence and strategic information supporting evidence-based public policymaking. She focused on the technological trends expected to shape public infrastructure and services, the economy, quality of life and societal resilience by 2050.

The workshop aimed to foster interactive dialogue among representatives of the quadruple helix—public administration, academia, industry and civil society—to:

  • translate inventive activity and emerging technological trends into practical strategies;
  • promote the convergence of policy, technology and the market.
