An invention is protected by law only when it has been registered with Patent, Utility Model Certificate, Certificate of European Patent Translation Filing or other titles of protection. The only official body competent for issuing these certificates in Greece is the Industrial Property Organisation.

At the same time OBI also operates as a receiving office for the protection of inventions abroad.
